3x5 Indiana State Flag For Sale
The Indiana state flag was adopted in 1917 and was designed by Paul Hadley who won a contest where he received $100 for his winning design. The states general assembly added the word Indiana in a crescent shape on the flag, which was the only change to the winning design.
The flag sits on a field of blue with a golden torch representing liberty and enlightenment with the torches rays representing the far influence the state has. Around the torch are 19 golden stars that indicate Indiana's place in the Union as the 19th state to join. The 19 stars are broken into 13 stars in an outer loop with 6 in its inner loop, one being directly over the torch. The outer stars represent the original 13 colonies, while the inner loop represents the other states that joined the union.
